Official Program 2026

Official Photographer Program

Documenting Pride through an ethical, community-first lens 🌈

Visual Integrity

Our Shared Vision

The SF Pride Official Photographer Program embodies our commitment to equitable, respectful, and dignified visual storytelling. We believe that who tells our stories matters as much as the stories themselves.

Historically, media representation has often tokenized or mischaracterized marginalized communities. Our program reclaims the narrative by empowering photographers to document the beauty, strength, and complexity of SF Pride with respect, dignity, and absolute consent.

Equitable

Prioritizing representation from historically marginalized storytellers.

Consent-Based

Focusing on dignity, privacy, and community safety.

Compensated

Honoring creative labor with professional stipends.

Archival

Creating a lasting archive of authentic queer joy.

"Capturing the raw energy, color, and absolute electricity of the Main Stage performers is where my soul sings. Pride is about uninhibited self-expression, and I make sure every photo screams that joy."

"I document the activism, the signs, the community marches, and the fierce solidarity. Pride was born in protest, and my camera honors that legacy by documenting our fight for liberation."

Ethics & Integrity

Ethical Photography Pledge

All official SF Pride photographers pledge to uphold these four core guidelines to protect and elevate our community.

We prioritize the comfort and safety of our attendees. Photographers will respect clear non-verbal cues and verbal requests for privacy. We do not engage in invasive photography, and we honor any direct request to delete or omit images from publications.

Our documentation strives to be complex, joyful, and real. We reject tokenizing narratives and capture our community in all of its diverse, intersecting shapes and expressions—avoiding framing that reinforces harmful stereotypes.

We document the spirit of activism and community-led care that keeps us safe. Photographers will refrain from capturing images that can be weaponized against vulnerable individuals or groups, focusing instead on mutual aid, resistance, and healing.

Our photographs are intended to preserve LGBTQ+ culture and history for future generations. All work is securely archived and captioned with accurate, respectful terminology that centers the voices of the subjects.
