Parade Contingent Requirements

Parade Contingent Agreement: No COI Filings Required

To streamline registration and ensure safety, walking groups (marching units) are covered under the standard liability waivers and agreements executed as part of the online Parade registration. No advance Certificate of Insurance (COI) filing is required for these units. For contingents utilizing motorized vehicles or floats, standard auto liability insurance, DMV registration, and driver's licenses are verified physically on-site during Sunday morning check-in rather than collected in advance.

Vehicle Operations Requirements

While there are no special event policies or filings required, contingents utilizing motorized vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles, or floats) must ensure standard lawful and safe vehicle operations:

1. Standard Auto Insurance

The vehicle must be covered by valid personal or commercial auto liability insurance (complying with standard California DMV minimum limits).

2. DMV Vehicle Registration

Current California DMV registration (or active registration from the vehicle's state of origin) is required.

3. Licensed Driver

The vehicle must be operated exclusively by an individual holding a valid, active driver's license.

No Advance Submission: You do NOT need to submit, upload, or file copies of your auto insurance, registration, or driver's license with SF Pride in advance. The driver simply needs to keep active physical or digital copies of these standard legal documents in the vehicle on parade day.
