San Francisco Pride Kicks Off 2026 Pride Season With “Built This City: An SF Pride Variety Spectacular”
SAN FRANCISCO – May 12, 2026 – San Francisco Pride today proudly announced the official kickoff event to Pride 2026, Built This City: An SF Pride Variety Spectacular. Taking place on Wed., June 10 at the historic Castro Theatre, Built This City will celebrate 50 years of queer San Francisco entertainment, featuring the artists, activists, performers and trailblazers who made the city what it is today.
Hosted by drag icon and filmmaker Peaches Christ and performer and activist Honey Mahogany, and presented in partnership with Peaches Christ Productions, Built This City will feature performances and tributes honoring the long legacy of queer activism, art and entertainment that defined San Francisco. This year’s Grand Marshals, which include Imani Rupert-Gordon, John Weber, Marcel Pardo Ariza, Ms. Bob Davis, Roger Doughty and Trans-Thrive, will be honored and celebrated on stage in the very neighborhood where so much LGBTQ+ history was made.

This event is a tribute to the activists who’ve fought for visibility, equality and liberation,” said Suzanne Ford, executive director of San Francisco Pride. “We built this city together. Now, let’s celebrate it together.”
Every ticket purchase directly supports San Francisco Pride’s mission to educate the world, commemorate LGBTQ+ heritage, celebrate queer culture and advance liberation for all.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for VIP Early Entry, with VIP guests enjoying an exclusive party featuring food, beverages, music and the opportunity to meet this year’s Grand Marshals. General Admission doors open at 7:00 p.m.
