When is San Francisco Pride 2026?
The San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade take place the last full weekend in June each year.
Our 2026 dates are June 27-28, 2026.
Saturday, June 27: Pride Celebration at Civic Center Plaza, 11am-6pm
Sunday, June 28: Pride Parade at 10:30am, followed by Celebration 11am-6pm
The Parade travels up Market Street from Embarcadero to Civic Center.
In addition to the Celebration and Parade produced by San Francisco Pride, there are hundreds of other events throughout Pride Month. Check back for our Community Calendar in 2026.
Is Pride free to attend?
Yes! It is free to attend both the Parade and the Celebration. We request a suggested donation of $5-10 at the Celebration entry gates. This donation helps cover production costs and supports our non-profit Community Partners. Since 1997, Pride has awarded over $3 million to LGBTQ+ community organizations.
How do I participate in the Parade?
Parade contingent registration typically opens in early spring. Organizations, businesses, community groups, and individuals can apply to march. Details about 2026 parade registration will be announced in early 2026. Sign up for our
newsletter to be notified when registration opens.
Are pets allowed at Pride?
No, pets are not allowed at the Pride Celebration for their safety and the safety of attendees. The event is extremely noisy, crowded, and hot, which can be distressing and dangerous for animals. Service animals assisting people with disabilities are always welcome.
What can I bring to the Celebration?
Small bags and backpacks are allowed. We recommend bringing:
• Reusable water bottle (free water refill stations available)
• Sunscreen and sun protection
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Credit/debit card or mobile payment (event is mostly cashless)
Prohibited items include weapons, glass bottles, large bags, and outside alcohol. Full details will be posted before the event.
How do I become a vendor at the Celebration?
Vendor applications for Pride 2026 are now open! We prioritize LGBTQ+-owned businesses and organizations that align with our mission and values. We encourage all vendors to accept cashless payments. Visit our
homepage for vendor registration links or email vendors@sfpride.org for more information.
Is Pride accessible?
Yes! We are committed to making Pride accessible to everyone. The Celebration features:
• ADA-accessible entrances and pathways
• Accessible viewing areas at stages
• ASL interpretation at Main Stage
• Accessible restrooms
• Parade accessible viewing area information available closer to the event
For specific accessibility questions, contact accessibility@sfpride.org.
How did San Francisco Pride begin?
The annual Pride Celebration commemorates the Stonewall Uprising of June 28, 1969, when LGBTQ+ patrons of the Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted a police raid, sparking the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement.
San Francisco's first Pride was a "Gay-In" on June 27, 1970. Since 1972, Pride has been held annually, evolving from "Christopher Street West" (1972) to "Gay Freedom Day" (1973-1980) to "International Lesbian & Gay Freedom Day Parade" (1981-1994), and finally to San Francisco LGBT Pride.
Today, SF Pride is one of the largest and oldest Pride celebrations in the world, symbolizing LGBTQ+ dignity, freedom of expression, and our ongoing fight for liberation and equality.
How can I volunteer at Pride?
We rely on thousands of volunteers to make Pride happen! Volunteer opportunities include stage support, info booths, accessibility services, and more. Volunteer registration for 2026 will open in spring 2026. Visit our
volunteering page or sign up for our
newsletter for updates.
How is Pride funded?
San Francisco Pride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization funded through sponsorships, donations, vendor fees, merchandise sales, and suggested donations at the gate. We receive no government funding. Every dollar supports our mission to educate, celebrate, commemorate, and liberate.

Can I apply for a Community Stage?
Community Stage applications are not being accepted for 2026. Our programming team is curating stage content directly this year. If you have entertainment or performance inquiries, please contact programming@sfpride.org.
What is Pride's theme for 2026?
Pride themes are announced several months before the event. The theme for 2026 will be revealed in early 2026. Sign up for our
newsletter or follow us on
Instagram to be the first to know!
Where can I park for Pride?
We strongly encourage using public transportation (BART, Muni, Caltrain) as parking is extremely limited and traffic is heavy. Civic Center BART station is steps from the Celebration. Street parking is difficult, and many lots fill early. If you must drive, arrive very early or consider rideshare drop-off away from the immediate area. Full transit information will be available before the event.
Are there age restrictions?
Pride is a family-friendly, all-ages event. People of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend. Parents should use their discretion as Pride is a large, crowded adult event with some mature content and themes.
